Nice, but pricey - certainly not in keeping with local prices. I suspect a Londoner has a hand in the creation of this quaint, warm eatery. Lovely modern decor, a good range of food on offer. Recommended

Set off road in Maunder's yard we sat with farmer customers and local ladies. Good selection of local sourced breakfast and home baked cakes. Gluten free choice was excellent and good coffee. Service is friendly but not fast as everything is prepared on site. Good food, not fast food. Popular with locals who appreciate the Cornish option to the nearby Costa.
Best place to eat in Launceston, staff are friendly, place is spotless.

The food is pleasant and entirely edible but not in my opinion does not represent the best Chinese cuisine available in Launceston. Perhaps they were having an off day but when I went I was able to to deduce quite easily that they were using oil which was not fresh. There was a cloying taste in the chips which accompanied my sweet and sour meal. The sweet and sour was very good however. As an addendum.. I revisited the Chung Hong recently was pleasantly surprised I had the House Special Chow Mein and also a banana fritter.. Both were cooked to a much more acceptable standard than an earlier visit.. Is this the best Chow Mein available in Launceston.? Well on the day I was really pleased to be eating here and will go again.
Although tucked away in a corner under an arch, it is a superb takeaway.

Visit often for takeaway for many years, Julie is great, food is usually quick but if it's busy they'll let you know, never have to wait more than 10 minutes after estimated pick up time for it either, recommended if in Launceston

What a gem of a find! Fantastic food which was obviously cooked fresh to order, very well priced and all backed up with friendly, cheerful and welcoming staff. This was our first night out during our one week stay in Cornwall and I have no doubt that we'll be returning to The Eliot Arms again at some point during our holiday. Thanks again!
We ate here several times while staying in the area on holiday. It's a great pub with a friendly feel. The food is delicious and clearly home cooked. I especially liked that the salad, even when served as a side to a main was made with thought, it would include coleslaw, beetroot, pasta etc. Most of the dishes could be ordered as a child size, which I also liked, as I get fed up of pub children's menus of just chicken nuggets/sausages etc and other unhealthy options. They also had a good selection of local ales. I would recommend the Eliot Arms

Lovely pub. Nice decor. Great, friendly staff. Just a very nice place. Best pub in Launceston by far. Shame it's not in Newton Abbot. We'd be in every other day!
This is what I call an original Pub, great atmosphere fantastic ales, being a member of CAMERA the ales were very well presented and of good taste, children and dog friendly what more do you want, a cupboard full of games and a separate family room if required, don't change a thing you have great pub, well done guys.
