Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Launceston Cycles

The Roundabout, Newport Industrial Estate, Launceston, Cornwall PL15 8EX, UK – 01566 776102

Having ambled in initially a couple of years ago with no knowledge of cycles, Launceston Cycles have seen me through my whole bicycle education from kindergarten to PhD.... lucky them!! I often pop in to pick their brains or ask a really inane question but they always have time and have been happy to help. I have also gone there with an emergency just before leaving for a competition and they have sorted the problem and sent me merrily on my way with not only a fully working bike but also a pep talk. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone at any level.

This is a total gem of a bicycle shop - Lisa and Nigel are so generous with their time but do not try and persuade you to buy stuff you don't want or need. Thank you so much - when I finally work out which bike I want I'll definitely purchase it from you - of course 'Giant' is a great brand!
